There is a lot of information out there about eating healthy and what to do. I’m here to tell you the easiest way to go about it.

First things first, write down your daily routine when it comes to eating. If it’s 3 meals a day, a few snacks here and there, or not eating at all. Make note of it. Recognize and be aware of what you are doing right now.

Second, what is your priority? What are you planning to accomplish from reading this article? From healthy eating? Think of the main reason WHY you are doing this. This can look like… wanting to lose weight, improving cholesterol levels, lowering blood pressure… or just wanting to feel better. What you choose is up to you. This is important because this will help you stay motivated throughout the process.

Third, start SMALL. When I say small, I mean the smallest of the small. This includes things like, adding 1 cup of water to your morning routine when you are taking your pills. See how specific that was? And how little effort that takes? The smaller the change, the BETTER. The smaller the change, the more sustainable. Also important to note that if you make the change very specific, can be easier to accommodate in your routine. When you’re making goals for yourself, using the SMART goals method is extremely helpful.

Now that we’ve gathered 3 things that can help us eat healthy, here’s an example —

I am a 25 year old female. I am currently working full-time from home. My current routine looks like: wake up, drink some tea, work, eat lunch, work some more, drink some more tea, eat supper, go on tiktok, sleep.

My priority is setting a better routine for myself — eating more regularly and having energy throughout the day.

My first SMART goal can look like: I will eat a fruit of choice (preferably my favourite fruit) once a day for breakfast.

^ This change seems very minimal but once I’ve accomplished this change — I can move on to the next, and then to the next.

I hope this helps. Keep in mind that changes are difficult and it takes time, the smaller the step the better!
